November to February is the best time for this north-to-south journey. The north is cool and dry with clear mornings, and the Andaman Sea around Phuket and Krabi is calm. Peak season runs from 20 December to 10 January and is the busiest and most expensive period. In March and April the north can be hazy from seasonal burning, and May is hot. From June to October the north is green and rainy and the Andaman coast has rougher seas, so some boat trips may be rescheduled. The itinerary works all year and your designer adjusts it to the season.

Eight nights is a comfortable minimum: three in Chiang Mai, one in Chiang Rai, two in Phuket and two in Krabi. That covers the northern temples, mountains and craft villages, the Blue and White Temples, and two island bases without rushing. You can add nights to any stop.

By private car in the north and by one domestic flight to the south. Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai is a private drive of about three hours with stops. From Chiang Rai you fly to Phuket, usually connecting through Bangkok, which makes it a longer travel day. Phuket to Krabi is a private drive of about three hours. There are no coaches or shared vans.

Yes. Staying one night lets you see the White Temple and the Blue Temple at a relaxed pace instead of squeezing them into a long day trip from Chiang Mai, and it adds an evening in Chiang Rai itself. The temples are often quieter in the late afternoon and early morning.

It is a private tour with your own car and guide. You visit Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple, and Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple, and your guide explains the artwork and symbolism at each. Both expect modest dress with covered shoulders and knees, and shoes come off inside the Blue Temple.

Yes. We can add a visit to an observation-only elephant sanctuary where there is no riding and no shows. It is an optional extra, quoted separately, and your designer will suggest sanctuaries that follow responsible-tourism standards.

International flights are not included, but the domestic flight from Chiang Rai to Phuket is. We can add flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and other Indian cities to your quotation. The journey is planned to arrive in Chiang Mai and depart from Krabi, and most routings connect through Bangkok.

Indian passport holders are currently able to visit Thailand for short tourist stays without a visa, but rules can change. Your designer confirms the latest entry requirements before you travel and helps with the Thailand Digital Arrival Card at no charge.

Never. Every transfer, guide, boat and table is reserved for your party alone. There are no coaches or joined groups on this journey.

Yes. Private cars, guides and boats let you set the pace, which suits couples, honeymooners, families with children aged 2 to 11 and senior travellers. Doi Inthanon and the temples involve some walking and steps, which can be shortened or skipped. Tell your designer about mobility needs or celebrations such as an anniversary or honeymoon.

Yes, on request. Northern Thailand has many vegetarian options, and your designer plans meals, including the Doi Inthanon and island-day lunches, around vegetarian, Jain or other dietary needs.

Pack layers for the north, where mornings and evenings are cool from November to February, including a light jacket for Doi Inthanon. Bring swimwear, a cover-up, reef-safe sunscreen and a hat for the islands, plus a scarf or shawl and clothing that covers shoulders and knees for temples. Your designer sends a packing list before you travel.
